  1. The majority of our candles are in 8 oz jelly jars. I've gotten some quotes out of China shipped to Charleston, SC, but I'm a little hesitant to buy a full sea container. Is anyone on here buying pallet quantities of jars? If so, care to share where you are buying them from?
  2. It's purely a cosmetic issue, not a performance issue. Next time you are in a store that sells candles, take a look, you will be surprised at how many factory made candles do the same thing.
  3. You should be using a scale and measuring by weight not volume. Different fragrance oils have different densities, so 1 tablespoon of Vanilla is going to weigh more than 1 tablespoon of a citrus.
  4. Can anyone on the forum speak to their personal experience of being sued for a product liability claim? What insurer did you have, what was the reason, outcome, etc. Also, what limits are people carrying? I've got 1 million in coverage, along with trying to protect personal assets via an LLC, just wonder if that is enough? Has anyone moved all their assets into a revocable trust as a form of asset protection?
  5. One thing you might consider is using a hub to hub freight service. Years back I used to buy/sell arcade machines, the best way to ship them was on a pallet and go hub to hub. I dropped off at my local hub, and the customer would pick up the pallet at theirs. Not trying to advertise for them, but I used Forward Air quite a bit since they had a good network and were convenient to my location.
  6. We donate a lot of candles and melts to local charities. While it may not make any direct sales, it is a really good talking point when doing events in the community. Gives people a warm fuzzy feeling. There is also a lot of research that shows millenia have almost come to expect some variation of a charitable component to companies that they do business with.
  7. I've ordered quite a few FO's from AFI, so far so good. I normally order 25 pounds at a time and sell off what I don't want to use. It's pretty easy to break it down in single pound bottles.
  8. Have you tried the Lebermuth Chocolate Angel? I just got 5 pounds of it in last week and it is quite nice.
  9. My favorite Buttercream is from Lebermuth, not overpowering like a birthday cake.
  10. Anyone that placed an order with a CC should be able to dispute the charge. Seems shady to stop filling orders and not be upfront about the reason.
  11. I've looked at their fragrance oils, and their prices are sky high. Buttercream Icing, which they are selling for $26 per pound, was just on sale for $7 per pound. I'm all for making a profit, but that seems excessive.
