I do get candle nose quite often. I usually bring my candles to work to check for cold throw. One of my coworkers across our dept is kind enough to put it in area. 99% of the time I can smell that baby all the way over at my desk. I have definitely found dud FO's over the course of the past few years of testing. Just need to test.
I use EL container and I add my FO at 175-180 and stir slowly and well. Then I let it sit until slushy and pour. I do have to let my candles have some cure time as well. I do wick test at 24-48 hours but I definitely get the best throw after 3-5 days or longer. HTH Deb
I am with Grumpy Girl....get one type of jar and test it out and then add more sizes etc. I made the mistake of trying to many sizes and scents all at once. Definitely recommined only purchasing sample size scents to test with and if they are a hit order more. I started off wrong an ordered # bottles to save money and now they are sitting on my shelf. HTH!
I have used EL oils and Candlesoylution...I may be wrong but I think their oils come from EL. I have had some that throw very well and others so-so just like any other company.
I have been dying my votives for some time but I am sick of the frosting from my wax. Just wondering how many of you go undyed on votives. I do color my containers and would still continue to color them.
