  1. Beautiful. Not sure I could do it. Looks too tedious for me.
  2. What about all the other website companies like Shopify, Volusion, etc (there are many more). They seem very affordable. Have you looked at those? Or that's not what you are looking for?
  3. I have had the same issues with 464 when I used it by itself. It was my understanding this is a characteristic of 464. You will see a frosted line appear usually around the discolored part of the wax as well. I would get excited when I poured my candles and they had no aesthetic issues - but then after burning them, and cooling - they always had a discoloration where the melt pool was. And the a lot of times (most) the frosted white line would appear with it.
  4. Yep, same here. They look at me like 'Why is it taking so long'. I would have never thought it would take this long either. I just tell them, "Well there is A LOT more to it than sticking a wick in a jar and filling it with wax" I see your name says "RN" behind it. So, I assume you're a nurse too I'm just tired of 12hr shifts. Love my patients. I get attached to them easily! I just would LOVE to made the candle business work out for many reasons. It's a frustrating joy! Best way to put it Ha ha. One day I think I'm almost there, and the next I'm not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel. Funny how drastic my opinion changes from day to day though. I'm getting ready to test burn 6 jars tonight and then - hopefully then,,,, crossing fingers & toes... then I'll be almost ready! I look at them now sitting on the counter,,, afraid to light them and see failure Lol.....
  5. Thanks Steve, I read this idea before. Haven't tried it yet, but might in the near future to save on wax etc. I do go ahead and fragrance my candles for my test burn.
  6. It definitely has it's ups and downs that's for sure! I just made some new ones tonight to try additional wicks. Hoping I nail it this time. I think I'm also being to OCD about it all to be honest. I went today and bought some cheap candles from wally world just to see how well they are wicked. Some of them have out of control flames! Made mine see all the better! I think the candle making is definitely the hardest so far. We changed jars and waxes - and seems like it's taking F O R E V E R to get them the way I want! When really it's only been about a month - but still.... it's making me angry Today I actually started creating some desert candles and have surprised myself at how well they have turned out for my first attempt - not too bad. It cheered me up some. My plan was not to attempt these at all until I was finished with my candles. Glad I tried it. Has me excited - Find something different to try when you're really frustrated with one thing. Worked for me.... today anyway, now tomorrow when I'm test burning these wicks (all 6 of them) I will probably be singing a different tune, or drinking something other than coffee ...... But at the same time it's like I refuse to let this conquer me! Good luck with this wax madness!
  7. This wicking ordeal is really a PITA. Just saying! It's making me crazy. I'm about to stick with being a nurse and give up on all of my candle/wax ideas. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... Had to vent - figured my thread was the best place for it!
  8. I guess that will be my plan then. I just want to light them now, but it's only been 8hr since I poured them. I'm not testing throw with this batch - just wicks.
  9. IMO, I bet the HT throw would be really good with them both. I have only mixed those 2 separately with soy blends, but since they both (6006 and 4627) have good HT I think together they would be good.
  10. if it works for you and your customers go for it. I think it's a cute idea. Having customers that want them is a plus for you! It's a nice feeling when people request things. I like the fondant mat idea. My husband is just starting soap making, so I might steal some of his molds and mats for my wax melts as well. Still working on some candle ideas at the moment. It's hard to stay on track..
  11. If I'm burning my candles for wick testing purposes ONLY then does it matter how soon I burn one? It's a parasoy blend. Mostly paraffin. I'm dying to move on with the process and don't want to wait 2-3 days. Thoughts??
  12. I second this! I don't like it, but apparently many others do. My husband hates florals, but I love them so he and I just alternate who is making what.
  13. Looks nice! Thanks for posting
  14. I've been looking at The Edge, and also Vista Wholesale as well. Pretty much just used Google - results are there. I wondered how they come shipped. Individual boxes ready for resale? Does anyone happen to know??
  15. I know that some fragrance oils from CS state that they have to ship them ground due to low flash points. If you want an example, I think Banana Nut Bread is one of them. Go to their site and put it in your cart, pretend you're going to check out and then you'll get the message about the shipping issue with them. Not sure if this will mean anything to you or not. I just always wondered why it was such a problem. I think Sex on the Beach is another oil that states the same. I know for sure Banana Nut Bread is though.
