I am going to make lotion, and the preservative I will be using is Liquapar Optima. It says I should use about 0.5% in lotions. So, if I make say a 16 oz batch of lotion, how many drops do I put in? I can figure out what weight it should be, but I can't measure weight that small, lol

Well if I did the math right .5% of 16oz is .08 of an ounce. From what I was able to find there are about 360 drops per ounce so you would just have to break it back from there. Taking it down to 1/2 an ounce which equals 3 teaspoon which equals 180 drops...and so on

Here a link I found to a chart it doesn't go as far down as you need but it's a neat chart.

Hope that helped a little.:D

You really need to make bigger batches or get a scale that can measure correctly. Too much preservative can be irritating to the skin - too little preservative won't preserve. Why take the chance?
