I just made this and there is something white in it?
Any idea how to get rid of it? Or what it is?

It is scented Wine & Roses

Did you use a primed wick? Sometimes the wax can melt off the wick and float around in the gel.

that is what I was think little pieces of wax from the wick. But also did you use a pot you normally use to melt regular wax if so it might even be from that. I have decaded gel equipment.

It is just a normal zinc wick from peaks that i use for my parf. candles.
Yes I did use the same presto that I use for my other waxes.
I had actually just finished pouring a container candle before the gel one! opps!

This one was just for decoration because someone had given me the wax.

Thanks for all the info I'll have to think about getting me another presto if I get into gel!

If you try another one, just put your wicks in the oven for a few minutes then sort of wipe off the wax. I finally got some wicks made for gels. Think they are primed with a really high mp wax. Instead of using the presto you could use a 4 cup pyrex measuring cup and melt the gel in the oven. Just a thought if you want to play some more.

Sharyl, Thanks for the tip on putting the wicks in the oven :) . I am gonna try that next time.

Thanks Sharyl! I would have never thought of the wick... or putting it in the oven.

Now I'm gonna have to give it a try again

Thanks everyone

It looks to me that it would be a lot simpler to use wick with no wax. You can buy wick and tabs and make your on wick.
This way you can save on wick. When you pour you simply pour over the wick priming it with the same MP wax you are using for that candle.
Why are wick waxed anyway.
